留學(xué)生面試“撒謊”,是怎么被面試官看穿的?

面試“必死”題

Tell me about yourself.

在英國,很多公司的面試題都是很格式化的?;旧系谝粋€(gè)問題都是 "Tell me about yourself." 或者 "Tell me your story." 或者 "Walk me through your resume."面試的這個(gè)開場白有多重要呢?

First response = First impression! 很多面試官最后都說,一般面試結(jié)果從這個(gè)問題的回答技巧/內(nèi)容就潛意識內(nèi)定了,之后問的問題都只不過是驗(yàn)證之前的決定。

該怎么回答才會(huì)滴水不漏,做好開場白呢?威久留學(xué)專家來為你支招,可以根據(jù)以下三部曲去回答問題,而且用不超過3分鐘來闡述:

簡單開頭

內(nèi)容:涵蓋一些比較基礎(chǔ)的信息,包括哪里長大、哪所大學(xué)/商學(xué)院。一到兩句就行了。

你對此行業(yè)的興趣來源和激情

來源可以是:參與了 Info Session/Case Competition/學(xué)校Club/Networking認(rèn)識的人群/個(gè)人投資常識等等。

“I participated in a campus investing competition during my sophomore year, where I did in-depth research on the energy industry and recommended investing in Enphaes Energy. Their stock later rose by 75% and our team became the champion."

為什么把它變成一個(gè)求職目標(biāo)

Sample response

“I applied to [Company name] and did marketing there for the summer. I did well and have helped the company improve their online marketing campaigns by over 30% in a month. However I reflected and decided I wanted to do something more relevant to my finance major and quantitative in nature."

So I applied for private banking and interned in UBS last summer where I analyzed clients' portfolio and made investment recomendations. Through the internship I networked GREatly internally and therefore realize my greater interest, which is to work with clients on a larger scale."

Why our firm?

“Why our firm?” 幾乎是公司的必問題。面試官想知道你是否和該公司的價(jià)值觀和文化相適應(yīng)。

Sample response

“I interned with [company name] in their [department name] department and therefore have acquired the necessary skills to develop myself further in this industry. I wish to combine my expertise and exposure in the industry and my finance knwoledge.

Through connecting and having converSATions with many people from the field and [company name], I believe [company name]'s culture and people suit me best in developing my early stage career...

千萬不要說另外一家公司的不好。假設(shè)你說了Jefferies的壞話,可你的面試官恰巧一年前曾在那里工作怎么辦?另外,保持積極正面的態(tài)度會(huì)為個(gè)人形象加分。

What is your greatest weakness?

面試官問你的greatest weakness,除了想知道你的弱項(xiàng)是否會(huì)有影響你在這個(gè)崗位上的表現(xiàn),也有兩個(gè)很重要的目的:

· 想知道你有多了解自己

· 你是否有主動(dòng)為自己的弱項(xiàng)/劣勢做出改變

應(yīng)付這種表面上很負(fù)面的問題,你可以:

正面用詞、態(tài)度回答一個(gè)本質(zhì)負(fù)面的問題。面試官就是想看你在遇到難題、挑戰(zhàn)的時(shí)候,你的weakness是否會(huì)影響你完成工作任務(wù)。

Focus on Solutions. 用一句帶過你的弱項(xiàng)就足夠,然后表達(dá)你已經(jīng)從錯(cuò)失中學(xué)習(xí),自己已經(jīng)在如何改進(jìn),或是你已經(jīng)改正了多少。

用正面的態(tài)度回答這個(gè)問題,但不要顯得虛偽,誠懇還是非常重要的。不要編一些你根本沒有的weakness,甚至說你沒有任何weakness,這樣會(huì)顯得你自視過高。

“Well, I used to be pretty horrible at public speaking. When I started college, it was a massive problem, and I was just terrified of doing it, and I didn’t do a very good job. So first I took the small step of promising myself that I would speak up in front of really small groups, for example in class. Then, I worked up to taking a public speaking class, which made a big difference. Now, even though I get nervous, I feel like its something that doesn’t completely hold me back, and, in fact, recently I gave a speech at a conference to over 100 people. My hands were shaking the whole time, but I got really good feedback at the end.”

· Who will pay more for an acquisition, a strategic buyer or financial, and why?

· Explain 3 features of Object Oriented Programming.
